Why one mukhi rudraksha?

एकवक्त्रः शिवः साक्षाद्भुक्तिमुक्तिफलप्रदः |

तस्मात्तु  धारयेद्देहे  सर्वपापक्षयाय  च ||

शिवमहापुराण, विद्येश्वर संहिता, अध्याय – 25, श्लोक - 64.

“The One Face Rudraksha is Lord Shiva himself and it blesses with worldly enjoyment as well as liberation. One who wears it on the body is freed from all his sins.” 

यत्र  संपूजितस्तत्र  लक्ष्मीर्दूरतरा  न  हि |

नश्यन्त्युपद्रवाः सर्वे सर्वकामाभवन्ति हि ||   

शिवमहापुराण, विद्येश्वर संहिता, अध्याय – 25, श्लोक - 65.

“Goddess Lakshmi never leaves the household where One Face Rudraksha is worshipped. All the negativity and disharmony is destroyed in that household and all the desires of the worshippers are fulfilled.” 

Why 5 mukhi rudraksha?

पंचवक्त्रः स्वयं रुद्र : कालाग्निनार्मतः प्रभुः सर्वमुक्ति प्रदश्चैव सर्व काम फल प्रदः ।।

Shiv Puran Chapter. 25, Shloka. 69

5 Mukhi Rudraksha is Kaalagni Rudra form of Lord Shiva. All the desires of the wearer are said to be fulfilled and one is said to be released from all bonds.
